Install SayCopyPaste
Open
Open SayCopyPaste.dmg from your Downloads folder.
Drag
Drag SayCopyPaste into your Applications folder.
Launch
Open SayCopyPaste from Applications. It shows up in your menu bar.
Allow
Sign in, then allow Microphone and Input Monitoring. macOS reopens SayCopyPaste once.
Open
Open SayCopyPaste-Setup.exe from your Downloads folder.
Allow
If Windows shows a warning, choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is signed by Bravely Studios LLC.
Launch
SayCopyPaste installs for your user, with no admin prompt, and opens. Sign in with your Bravely Account.
Talk
Hold Right Alt, say anything, and let go: your first transcript is on the clipboard.
Open
Open SayCopyPaste.deb from your Downloads folder and choose Install.
Launch
SayCopyPaste shows up in your app menu and keeps itself up to date. Open it and sign in.

Can’t install or can’t dictate?
The download did not start
Download SayCopyPaste.dmg again (16 MB).
SayCopyPaste does not open
Drag SayCopyPaste into your Applications folder and open it from there. It lives in the menu bar, with no Dock icon.
Holding the key does nothing
Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and allow SayCopyPaste under Microphone and Input Monitoring, then reopen it. A key you record yourself also needs Accessibility.

SayCopyPaste needs a connection to transcribe. If it says it didn’t catch any audio, check that the right microphone is picked in Settings.
My dictations don’t show up on my other devices
Sign in the same way on every device (Apple, Google or email), and check that saving dictations is on in Settings. Different sign-in methods can make two separate accounts.

Your first few minutes
Add to what you just said
- Hold ⌘ on a Mac, or Ctrl on Windows and Linux, as you press your key.
- Talk. Your new words join the last ones on the clipboard.
- Started a fresh one by mistake? Recent chains in the menu brings the earlier passage back.
Teach it a word
- Open Settings, then Vocabulary.
- Add the word as it should be spelled, and what it was misheard as if you know.
- Dictate again. SayCopyPaste sends your words along as a hint and puts your spelling in place of the misheard one.
