Terms of Use — SayCopyPaste

By downloading, installing, or using the SayCopyPaste application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

SayCopyPaste is a Mac menu-bar dictation utility. You hold the Globe / Fn key, speak, and on release the captured audio is sent to Groq for transcription and the resulting text is written to your clipboard. The App also includes optional features such as a local vocabulary store, transcript history, and a 14-day Pro trial with paid tiers thereafter.

SayCopyPaste sends captured audio to a transcription proxy hosted at bravely.dev, which forwards your audio to Groq for processing. We absorb the Groq cost; you do not need a Groq account. Bravely Studios LLC reserves the right to throttle or suspend the proxy in response to abuse, malicious traffic, or sustained costs that materially exceed reasonable personal use.

SayCopyPaste begins with a 14-day free Pro trial — no card required. After the trial expires, the free tier provides 10 minutes of dictation per calendar day with vocabulary learning and 7 days of transcript history. Pro adds unlimited dictation, full transcript history, and (when shipped) future privacy-mode features. Paid tiers are sold through Paddle (https://paddle.com), the merchant of record: • Monthly subscription billed monthly until cancelled • Annual subscription billed yearly until cancelled • Lifetime — one-time purchase, all future updates included Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Refunds are handled by Paddle in accordance with their refund policy. Payment processing, sales-tax collection, and chargebacks are Paddle's responsibility, not ours.

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If SayCopyPaste is not a fit, you may request a refund under the following terms: • Lifetime and annual purchases: You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. • Monthly subscriptions: You may cancel anytime; the current paid period remains active until its end. Refunds for monthly charges are considered on a case-by-case basis. • After 14 days: Refund requests for lifetime / annual purchases will be considered on a case-by-case basis at our discretion. To request a refund, email jeff@bravely.dev with your Paddle order number or the email you used at checkout. Refunds are processed by Paddle and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your payment method.

Transcripts and vocabulary corrections are stored locally on your Mac under ~/Library/Application Support/SayCopyPaste. You are responsible for the security of that directory. We do not back it up, sync it, or have any access to it. See the Privacy Policy for full detail on what data leaves your machine and where.

You agree not to: • Dictate audio you do not have the right to record (e.g. covertly recording a private conversation in a jurisdiction that prohibits one-party-consent recording) • Use the App to transcribe content that violates Groq's terms of service • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Bravely-side cryptographic keys from the binary • Use automated scripts to abuse the dictation pipeline beyond personal use

SayCopyPaste uses Sparkle to deliver signed updates over HTTPS from bravely.dev. By installing the App you authorize automatic update checks. You may disable scheduled checks in Settings; manual "Check for Updates…" remains available regardless.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App, the Groq API, or the bravely.dev infrastructure will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any specific feature will continue to be supported indefinitely.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bravely Studios LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App or any third-party service it integrates with. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms or create legal/operational risk for Bravely Studios LLC or other users. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Subscription cancellation is handled through Paddle; uninstalling does not by itself cancel a recurring subscription.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kansas.
