Terms of Use — Terminal Tags

By downloading, installing, or using the Terminal Tags application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Terminal Tags is a menu-bar (macOS) / tray (Windows) utility that tags terminal windows with colored labels and — for Pro subscribers — launches saved AI agent profiles (Claude, Codex, Gemini, and similar tools). The App ships with a companion command-line tool that allows AI agents you trust to register profiles into your local configuration. The App operates on your device and is distributed directly by Bravely Studios LLC.

Window tagging is free and requires no account. Terminal Tags Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks the agent profile launcher (saving, listing, and launching profiles from the menu bar / tray, plus CLI-based registration). Free-tier functionality remains available without a subscription.

Upon purchasing a Terminal Tags Pro subscription, Bravely Studios LLC grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Pro features on devices you own or control for personal or business use. You may not share, sublicense, or transfer your license to another user without prior written consent. Pro licenses remain active for the duration of your billing period.

Terminal Tags Pro is available via monthly subscription ($3.99/mo) or annual subscription ($24.99/year). All payment processing is handled by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our merchant of record. Paddle handles all billing, invoicing, and sales tax/VAT compliance on our behalf. We do not collect, process, or store any payment card details. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the end of the current billing period. You can manage your subscription through the Paddle customer portal link provided in your purchase confirmation email.

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not happy with Terminal Tags Pro, you may request a refund under the following terms: • Monthly or annual subscription: You may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or any renewal charge. To cancel future charges, cancel your subscription through the Paddle customer portal before the next billing date. • After 30 days: Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis at our discretion. To request a refund, email jeff@bravely.dev with your order number or the email address used at purchase. Refunds are processed by Paddle and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your payment method.

Terminal Tags Pro launches terminal commands you have explicitly configured in your agent profiles. Profile data is stored locally at ~/.terminaltags/profiles.json and is shared with the Terminal Tags command-line tool. You are responsible for the commands you configure, the third-party AI agents you run, and any content those agents produce or transmit. Bravely Studios LLC does not operate, control, or endorse the AI agents you choose to launch.

The App, including its code, design, graphics, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Bravely Studios LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part of it.

You agree not to: • Use the App for any unlawful purpose • Attempt to circumvent the license validation • Distribute, share, or publicly post your license or activation credentials • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or any part of it • Use the App or the agents it launches to violate the terms of service of any third-party AI provider

Terminal Tags launches third-party command-line AI agents (including but not limited to Anthropic Claude, OpenAI Codex, and Google Gemini) that you have installed on your device. Your use of those agents is subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies. Bravely Studios LLC is not a party to your relationship with those providers and is not responsible for their availability, behavior, or output.

We may revoke your Pro subscription at any time if you violate these Terms, including but not limited to sharing your activation credentials or attempting to circumvent license validation. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Upon termination, your right to use the Pro features ceases immediately. Free-tier window tagging remains available after Pro termination.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with all macOS or Windows versions or hardware configurations.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bravely Studios LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App, regardless of the theory of liability. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid in the preceding twelve months.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bravely Studios LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the App, the commands you configure, or violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kansas.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
