Install Scry

The Scry disk image window: drag the Scry icon along the arrow onto the Applications folder to install.

  1. Open

    Open Scry.dmg from your Downloads folder.

  2. Drag

    Drag Scry into your Applications folder.

  3. Launch

    Open Scry from Applications. macOS checks the signature once, then it opens.

  4. Allow

    Sign in, then allow Screen Recording and Accessibility in System Settings so this Mac can be reached.

  1. Open

    Open Scry-Setup.exe from your Downloads folder.

  2. Allow

    If Windows shows a warning, choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is signed by Bravely Studios LLC.

  3. Launch

    Scry installs and opens on its own. Sign in with your Bravely Account.

  4. Say yes

    When Windows asks to let Scry make changes, choose Yes. That installs the background service that lets you reach this PC.

  1. Open

    Open Scry.deb from your Downloads folder and choose Install.

  2. Launch

    Scry shows up in your app menu and keeps itself up to date. Open it and sign in.

  3. Turn on

    Turn on Reach this machine anytime and enter your password once.

  4. Sign out

    If Scry asks, sign out of this computer once (or restart) to finish.

    Find Scry.AppImage in your Downloads folder.

  2. Allow

    Right-click it, open Properties, and allow it to run as a program.

  3. Launch

    Double-click it and sign in with your Bravely Account.

  4. Turn on

    Turn on Reach this machine anytime and enter your password once.

Can’t install or can’t connect?

  • The download did not start

    Download Scry.dmg again (29 MB).

  • Scry does not open

    Drag Scry into your Applications folder and open it from there. macOS checks the signature once, then it opens.

  • This Mac shows as offline

    Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and allow Scry under Screen Recording and under Accessibility. Until both are on, this Mac can’t be reached.

  • My computers don’t show up

    Sign in the same way on every device (Apple, Google or email). Different sign-in methods can make two separate accounts.

Your first few minutes

Reach your own computer

  1. Install Scry on the computer you want to reach and sign in.
  2. On the device you’re using, sign in to Scry with the same account, the same way.
  3. Pick the computer from your list and connect.

Help someone with a code

  1. They open Scry on their computer and choose Get a code for someone to join.
  2. On your device, choose Join someone with a code and type it in within 15 minutes.
  3. You’re looking at their screen. When you leave, the session and the code end. You both need an active plan or trial.

Send a file

  1. While you’re connected, drop or paste a file into Scry (on a phone, choose Choose File).
  2. On the other computer, click Save and pick where it goes. You can click it yourself, right in the session.
  3. Scry checks the file, then it’s ready to open.
