Privacy Policy — PrintScreen.ly

We believe in minimal data collection. PrintScreen.ly is a local-only screenshot utility for macOS and Windows that does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Your screenshots and settings never leave your device.

We do not collect any personal information. No user accounts are required. No registration, email address, name, or other identifying information is ever requested or stored. PrintScreen.ly operates entirely on your device with no server component.

On macOS, PrintScreen.ly requires Screen Recording permission to capture screenshots using Apple’s ScreenCaptureKit framework. On Windows, PrintScreen.ly uses standard Windows screen capture APIs that do not require additional permissions. On both platforms, this capability is used solely to perform the screenshot captures you initiate. Screen content is never transmitted, uploaded, or shared with any server or third party. Captured images are saved only to the local folder you choose.

When you purchase a license, your license key is stored locally on your device — in UserDefaults on macOS and in %APPDATA%/PrintScreenly/settings.json on Windows. The key is validated against the Paddle API to verify your purchase. No personal data beyond the license key itself is sent during validation. We do not operate our own license server — validation is handled entirely by Paddle. All payment processing, billing, invoicing, and sales tax/VAT compliance is handled by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our merchant of record. All screenshots you capture are saved locally to a folder you choose on your computer. PrintScreen.ly does not upload, sync, or transmit your screenshots to any server. The app accesses only the save location you configure.

We do not collect any of the following: • Personal information (name, email, phone number, address) • Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or device ID) • Location data • Usage analytics or behavioral tracking • Crash reports or diagnostics • Screenshot contents or metadata We use no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind. The only third-party dependency is the KeyboardShortcuts library, which is used solely for registering keyboard shortcuts and does not collect or transmit any data.

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. Since we do not collect any personal data, there is nothing to share.

The app does not collect personal information from any user, including children under 13. Because no personal data is collected, the app is safe for users of all ages.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
